The final product

We have finally finished the music video! My experience throughout it has been amazing. My teammates are truly some of the best there are. I cant wait to talk about how our production changed in the video since the commercial. The music video is a minute and fifteen seconds long. The song we used (if you don’t remember) is where’d all the time go by dr dog. It’s an amazing indie song and I hope you all like it. The time I had working on this project was amazing. Alright I’m gonna stop talking now. Here’s the final product of the music video.

Editing is worse than I imagined

Image
I was planning on finishing up the editing over this weekend but I had major problems that I ran into so I couldn't. After hours of trial and error I had to delete the edit and start again from the beginning. The amount of rage inside of me was incomprehensible but I did it. I  finally exported the product onto my pc and called it a day, I didn't want to touch a computer for the next week. The next day I got into a call with my groupmates. We all sent our edits to the group chat and watched each others. I liked Andy's a lot since he is an editing master but Jibril's was good too. Andy said he would mush them together into one. After the call I was going to go play some video games until I realized a major problem. The timing of the music video. I immediately called up Andy and told him that none of our edits had the required time needed. We all started to panic. Luckily I remembered that I filmed some extra scenes in case this problem would arise. I sent the scenes to A

Finally got to editing

Todays the day that I finally got into editing. We decided that we would all edit bits and pieces then mush it together to make one epic video. It worked last time with the commercial so it should work now. I'm using an editing software called shotcut, its really good and surprisingly free. Anyway lets get back to the important stuff. I sent all the film I took on my phone and emailed it to myself. On my pc I opened Gmail and downloaded the video clips. I uploaded them into shot cut and got to work. We were going for a nostalgic effect with this music video so I looked for a grainy filter. There were lots to try from and I found the one I liked. I applied it to the video and voila, magic. Already everything was building up in my head on how to perfect this music video. I cut the clips with parts that were unneeded and and a little bit of a blur when doing the transitions between clips so it looked as if everything was filmed in one shot. I was very proud of my editing and couldn

Another day of filming

Today is Saturday December 4th. Andy and I decided to choose this day to go filming in the park. It was one of the most crucial scenes needed in our music video so we knew we couldn't mess anything up. It was a beautiful day outside and I got to the park in the afternoon (can't remember the time) and Andy came five minutes later. I set up the phone for filming while Andy went over the storyboard. We started filming all the scenes and everything went fine. The pans and all the other shots were implemented beautifully into the filming. I was kinda proud of myself for being able to do such a good job. We filmed everything then got to one scene that was almost impossible to do. We had to get a shot of Andy and Jibril on bikes for a flashback scene. I asked Andy what to do and he said he would edit it so it seemed like we filmed a shot of them, like the computer master he is. We then got permission to film some friends on their bikes riding in the park for our scene of reminiscence.

First day of filming!

It's finally November 20th and I'm at the Broward county fair with Andy. Before recording we went on a bunch of rides, our favorite being the hyperloop. We made the plan already that Andy would be the main actor and I would be filming this time. Jibril wasn't able to make it so we will edit him into the scene we need, in the later scenes he is the secondary actor. Jibril is also the editor. Anyway, we started of by going to the Ferris wheel since that was the starting scene in the storyboard. I set up my phone and filmed how Andy was on the Ferris wheel. Later I filmed Andy again on the Ferris wheel but with space to edit Jibril into the shot. Afterwards I filmed it again since the shot didn't go that well, the Ferris wheel conductor was looking at us weirdly for going on the Ferris wheel multiple times but we didn't care. I went to the bathroom and afterwards prepped the phone for the next scene. I filmed Andy walking along the fair by himself. We messed up the sho
