AICE Media Studies

1: Our product uses and challenges conventions in many ways. Instead of just promoting a single brand of water we ended up going against a different brand and showing how Zephyrhills water is superior. We promoted the water in a more interesting way so that we could grab the readers attention and hopefully make the commercial more interesting for them to watch. Our product represents issues in the world, those reasons are that some people aren't able to afford water so we provided a commercial for a brand of water that doesn't just taste better but is also more affordable. Our project represents social groups because we have the same amount of drive as them which is to get Zephyrhills water out to everyone since it is the best choice of water. 2: Our commercial engages with our audience in many different ways. I absolutely love our commercial. When Andy sent the final product (he revised everything cause me and Jibril suck at editing) to the group chat we were both astonished and laughing from the video. Andy's editing skills were absolutely amazing. The effects and the little jokes that were in the commercial made it better than we ever imagined. We watched the video and there was only a slight problem. One of the green screen clouds looked really bad, but it was resolved quickly. Andy redid the clouds and sent back the final (final) product. We showed all of our friends and we are proud of what we've made. We finished up this blog and posted the video to it. Jibi had a hard time uploading his video because his computer was bugging but in the end we finally finished.

 It is October 8th, Today was basically a free day in class. I was finished with 90% of my editing. In class I fixed up some music cut scenes. I also fixed up Jibril's voice over so it looks like it never was one at all. Once I finished with that my plan was to get my friends to extract their edits and send them to me so I could put it together in I-Movie. Today was the ONE day that my friends didn't come to school. I texted them and they made up some excuses why they didn't come. During class there was nothing I could do so I was talking with some of my friends in the group next to me. I finished doing some of my math homework and started working on this blog. Once again I tripped down the media center stairs. Once I got home I got on a call with my friends. On October 6th, I was working on editing. When I got into class I sat with my group and we discussed who gets what slide to edit. We played rock paper scissors to see who would get what scene. Since I won I got to choose the two scenes I wanted. I chose the garbage can scene, and the shot where Jibril was God. Afterwards, I started reviewing each scene. I realized that Jibril's shot where he was God needed to have a voiceover since the wind was cutting out his voice. The garbage scene was fine as is. I tried downloading I-Movie but my Mac wasn't up to date. When I got home I connected to the wifi and immediately updated my computer. I downloaded I-Movie and immediately imported the scenes from one drive. I was looking for music to put during the scene where Jibril was God. I remembered Halo had a sick soundtrack so i'm using the choir as the music for when God appears.  It's Monday October 4th, we didn't do anything special today. Early in the morning I packed my film clothes just in case when I was getting ready for school. When I got to class I went to go sit next to Jibi and Andy. We decided to look over the clips for the billionth time. We saw a scene and we didn't like how short it lasted, so we went outside to film. We inserted a nice tilt shot and made the scene look much better than the original. We were hanging out at the bleachers afterwards and were watching others make their commercials. We met a nice kid there and became friends with him. We talked about our commercials and what we were doing them about. We lost track of time and it was already 12:15! We went straight to class and hung out in there.  On Tuesday the 28th, our group started the filming for our commercial. We were not planning to film everything on the 28th but we had already finished our storyboard blog and we couldn't just sit in class and do nothing so we went out to film. I was the main actor of the commercial so I didn't really have to bring anything special for the filming. I brought some clothes to change into and that's it. When we left the class to go film I first went to the bathroom to change into my athletic clothes. Once we got down to the track we were planning how to do our CLAMPS and mis-en-scenes. After we figured everything out we started doing preparations. To give the affect of dehydration I ran 3 laps around the track to make myself sweat so when filming started it would seem more realistic. During the filming process we had way too many bloopers.   Scene 1-  Max is running on the school track in athletic clothing. The  sun's  heat is blazing down on him.     Scene 2-  Max starts to run slower on the track. He's full of sweat and very dehydrated. He's craving something to drink.     Scene 3-  Max pulls a bottle of Dasani water out from his backpack. He chugs it but  immediately  spits it out.
