Our first production blog: schedule + planning

Right now this blog is being written as me and my group members are leaving an airsoft field celebrating my birthday party. After the party, we got together back to my place to make some arrangements for our filming schedule. Lots of events in our life came up so we worked up a newer schedule on the days that we film and edit. First off we scouted Jibril's house to make sure it was all set up for filming. We talked to his parents and they said we have full permission, which is perfect. I talked to his little brother Yusef and he agreed to be in some scenes with us. Afterwards, we saw we had some extra time to film so we started on our first intro type scene. We dressed in business attire and acted as newscasters reporting a mass murderer. The scene will of course be finished with some editing on those news headers on the top and bottom, but we were really proud of our work. Afterwards, Jibril's mom gave us some lemonade and we chilled over at his place. When leaving, I dropped Alec off home and drove back to my place. We got on a Facetime call and started planning what we were gonna do the next day of filming. We knew that for one of the scenes we would have to use my house since it requires us tackling down a suspect. We planned to do that on a later day once the rest of the film was finished. I checked all the artists that I messaged for their music and to no avail none of them responded. So, the hunt for copyright free music came too. We planned to film the rest of the scenes a couple days later. For now, I searched for the music. I found a dope royalty free metal song that will be perfect for the outro. We're really tired so we called it for the day. Signing off for tonight guys.

Today's the day of the major pool scene. Me and my friends got together at school and went to my car. We stopped by dominoes to pick up some pizza because we were absolutely starving. Afterwards, we went by Jibril's place to pick up his cop costume. Honestly its just a blue trench coat and a police badge we got from the dollar store, but we gotta stay economic. We went to my place and absolutely devoured the pizza. Oh and i forgot to mention, my Amazon package containing fake blood and fake cyanide pills came. We could use the cyanide for the scene we were going to film. Now, it was time to record. We filmed the scene of me entering the house for the first time with the murder scene being crystal clear. We then recorded the scene of me tackling officer Lussac into the pool and dragging him out. This was one of the most fun scenes i've filmed in my life. Write a script for your short film. This should include dialogue, action, and descriptions of the setting and characters. Gather a team of people to help bring your short film to life. This may include actors, a director, a cinematographer, and other crew members. Create a shot list and storyboard for your short film. This will help you visualize each scene and plan out the camera angles and movements. Set up a schedule for filming and rehearse with your cast and crew. Finalizing the filming

  It’s been awhile since I’ve done any modifications on the sequence with me being busy with school and all that. It’s been a long time since I’ve done any work so I decided to discuss with my group on what we should do next moving forward. I and the others knew that we would have to get at least one of these days to film together, so we made a plan and set a date to meet and film. After figuring out each person’s availability, I and the others decided on the upcoming Thursday to film together a major chunk of the scenes. Once Thursday arrived, we all met in an area of a plaza that had the perfect visual of an alley way for the sequence. To begin, I first had the idea of finishing up the beginning scenes that were missing due to just me being apart of the recording.
