The editing fiasco
Finally, every scene has been finally produced and film, now all that's left to do is to edit and put them all together. I would be quite some time until I would continue to edit the rest of the sequence, but after resting for awhile, I finally started to work on the sequence again. The last time I worked on the editing of the sequence, I only edited the scenes that were produced with only me in the scenes/the scenes that were easy to film without the whole group. Now that all the scenes have been filmed however, I will now be able to finish this sequence up.
I started by importing all the remaining scenes missing into the editor to put them all together. This actually took a long time to do due to the great amount of clips added to the editor, lasting about an hour. Once imported, I immediately started to place them chronologically, putting each clip in their specific spot of the sequence. Once that was done and set, I moved on to the beginning fighting scenes and added the specific sounds for fighting effects. This was also quite difficult since I had to put repeating sound effects in specific time slots where the actions would occur. After awhile, I was finished with this fight scene and moved on to another fight scene and did the same process. Luckily, it was just one remaining fight scene afterwards so I quickly wrapped it up with the sounds and edited the background sound. After finishing the fight scenes, I went on to edit the audio of all the clips to see if any background sound was causing disturbance to the sequence. I was able to edit the audio by manipulating which spots of the scene would be heard and which spots would be quieted. Only some scenes needed some quieting so it didn't take much time, so then, the next thing to modify was the lighting. There were still some scenes that were too bright for this sequence and needed some editing; so, I went on to check all the clips and saw that 4 scenes needed lighting fixes. it was tricky trying to find the right amount of lightning necessary for each scene, but after a little bit of time, they were set and good. Finally, I went to the final scene and added the blacking out effects to the scene that would show the perspective of the protagonist. I had to set specific time slots that would black in and create a dizzy effect to show the protagonist fainting. I finished up this effect and then started to export the sequence as a rough product. I considered it a rough product since I think more needs to be added before being finalized and published. Anyways, that is all I was able to do for this editing process.
Signing off for the night.
